10 September 1996
i AGE-NC Project No. 95-0106
i
i
• Hydrocarbon-impacted soil appears to extend off-site to the north, under Beverly Place, and
eastward onto the adjacent property.
• On 09 July 1996, ground water flow direction at the site was northeast. Based on data from
other sites in the area, it is likely that the flow direction varies seasonally from northeast to
northwest.
• Based on analytical results of ground water samples collected from probe boring P4 and well
MW-4,hydrocarbon-impacted ground water extends off-site toward the north and northwest.
• Well MW-3 limits the extent of dissolved hydrocarbons northeast of the site.
• Well MW-2 limits the extent of dissolved hydrocarbons south (up-gradient) of the former
UST area.
5.2. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on the results of this investigation, AGE recommends the following:
. Two additional ground water monitoring wells should be installed at the site to determine
the lateral extent of dissolved hydrocarbons. One well should be installed on the south
sidewalk of Carlton Way (north of Beverly Place); a second well should be installed in the
City of Tracy right-of-way approximately 30 feet west of probe boring P4.
• Additional ground water monitoring wells, with discrete screen intervals located below the
depth of the first ground water encountered, may be required to determine the vertical extent
of dissolved hydrocarbons.
• The next quarterly monitoring should be scheduled for October 1996.
6.0. LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities. The findings were based upon
analytical results provided by an independent laboratory. Evaluations of the geologic/hydrogeologic
conditions at the site for the purpose of this investigation are made from a limited number of
available data points (i.e. monitoring wells, ground water and soil samples) and subsurface
conditions may vary away from these data points. No other warranty, expressed or implied, is made
as to the professional recommendations contained in this report.
