' 07 January 2004..
AGE=NC Project No. 95-0106 .
Page 3 of 4 _
1,2-DCA was detected for the first time.ata concentration of 5.0 Ag/L in the ground water sample
Icollected from MW-4.
'No adaitional analytes were detected at or.'above laboratory detection limits'in'wells MW=a and;
I' MW-4. No:analytes were detected zit or above laboratory detection limits in-wells MW-2, MW-3,
MW-4, MW-5', MW-6 '(Upper),-MW-6' (lower). and MW-7. Analytical results of groundwater'
samples are SLIminarized in Table 2. The laboratory report.(CTEL'Project No, CT2.14-0309070),
' QA/QC and chain-of custody'are included in Appendix C, ;
-4.0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
' The following conclusions were drawn froin the'results•ofthe site investigation:
• . was generally northward on 1.1 -September 2003, and.
The ground water flow direction
gradients were calculated to range from 0.005 feet/fee toward the northwest to 0.005 feet/feet
toward the northeast.-Groundwater elevations increased slightly but continue to flow in a
northerly direction.
' . TPH-g was detected in ground water.samples from monitoring well.MW-4, located down=
gradient off-site from the former,UST excavation, and well MW-1 located just north of the
former.UST area. ,
• BTEX compounds were detected in the water samples collected from MW-1 and MW-4. The
concentrations. of benzenc.,in the samples exceeds the State of California maximum
' contaminant levcl,(MCL),f6i drinking water.' _
• MTBE was detected'in the.water sample collected from MW-1; the concentration detected
exceeds the secondary MCL for MTBE in drinking water:
' •• 1,2-DCA was detected for the first time in the ground water sample collected from MW-1;
the concentration of 1,2,-DCA exceeds the-MCL for drinking water. '
5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS'-
Based on this and previous site investigations; AGE recorrimends continued quarterly-monitoring.
of the well network. The'fourth giiarter'monitoring event_was preformed-in December 2003.
AGE is also prepafing a report of findings related to.nine soil borings advanced on- and off-site ;
during the'third 4uarter,2003; for further vertical and lateral soil and ground water impact definition:
'• AGE antiipates a ilial report during'the first quarter 2004:
' I 'Advanced Geo Environmental,Inc.
