WELL MONITORING AND EVACUATION '
On 22 March 2005, a Solinst water level meter.was used to measure the depth to groundwater in
groundwater monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-7 relative to the tops of the well casings: After
ground water.depth measufemehts were collected, each monitoring well was purged using`a new
disposable plastic bailer. Between 3 and 7 gallons of water were evacuated from each monitoring
well, a minimum.of three casing-water,volumes per well.
I1 Temperature,pH,and conductivity were measured at regular gallon intervals, as appropriate, using
an,O. akton water analyzer to monitor stabilization of these ground water parameters.Field data logs
are included in Appendix B. Purged water was temporarily stored on-site in 55-gallon•Department ,
of Transportation.(DOT)-approved storage drums.pending,proper disposal.
2.2. COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS.OF GROUNDWATER SAMPLES
`Water samples-were collected from monitoring wells MW4,through MW-7 using.new disposable '
bailers.-The samples were transferred into 40-milliliter(ml)EPA-approved:volatile organic'analysis
(VOA) vials containing 0.5 ml 18%hydrochloric acid solution as a preservative. The sample vials
were then labelled with the monitoring well designation, date, time of sampling, and the sampler's
' initials.
Advanced GeoEnvirnnmental,Inc.
