TPH-g acid BTEX compounds were detected only in the grab ground water samples collected at
fi'.: P ( PP Y g) p g g
*ater=table de th` a roximatel.,..10 feet bs' and at total de'`th of borin s B 17 and B 18:The highest
coricentrations'of contaminants were detected in the water table samples;at 160,000 micrograms per
liter (µg/1) TPH-g,in sample B 17-Y; and 5,600 µg11 benzene; 14;000 µg/1 toluene;`3,2001`µg/1
ethylbenzene and j2,000'µg/l xylenes in sample B1.8-1. /
At total depth, maximum TPH=g concentration was 3,900 µg/1 (B1h6,8-2 the BTEX
concentrations were considerably lower;benzene was not detected,maximum toluene concentration
' was 3.8 4g11 (B18-2), maximum ethylbenzene concentration was 2.2_µg/l (B17-2) and maximum'.
C';,x'ylenes concentration was.16.8'Pg/1 (B18-2).:
' -No other tar,getanalytes were detected in the'sam les analyzed.Analytical results from ground-water
' samples.are summarized in Table 2. The laboratory`report (CTEL Lab ID CT214-0308117-and
' CT214-0306069),quality assurance and quality control(QA/QC)and chain-of-'custody are included
in Appendix D.
.. 4.6. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
Based.upon soil and ground water data collected'during advancement of soil borings supplemented
by data from previous site investigations, AGE concludes:
• In',gene'ral,the soil profile,corisisted of brown-to tan-colored clay, clayey,silt,.or,clayey,fine '
' sand from surface ade to.between 13 and 17 feet:bsg, underlain by predominantly fine to
.gt ;
coarse '"sand'and gravel, laterally, the coarser-grained soil appears -to be localized in a - .
' northerly trend long the east side-of;:the property. .Grotind water was, encountered at
approximately I O,feet bsg.
• TPH-g and/or various BTEX compounds were detected in soil samples coll'ected'af or above
' 10:feet bsg from borings B 16,B 17,B 18•and B20,at maximum concentrations'of 15,-mg/kg
TPH=g, 0:52 mg/kg benzene, 0.18 mg/kg toluene, 0:24 mg/kg ethylberizene and.1..15 -rig/kg
xylenes.,.The vertical and-lateral distribution of TPH-g in soil,is .depicted in Figures 6
through 8. F
' MTBE was•.detected in soil samples,collected from borings B17 acid B18, at a maximum
' concentration of 0:29 mg/kg.,MTBE was detected in soil samples collected• ro.m total depth
in-,bot borings at-a concentration of•0.012 mg/kg.
' •. . Based on volumetric calculations, the,total volume°of remaining gasoline-impacted soil is
