4.0 EXTENT OF CONTAMINATION
F
}
In order to determine the extent of contamination at the site, three soil borings were advanced in the
vicinity of the former USTs. In addition, 7 soil samples were collected at various depths from the three
soil boring locations and analyzed for TPH-d. This section describes the sampling results.
:r
I
'. 4.1 Soil Sample Results
Soil samples were collected at 5-foot intervals in all three soil borings. The following soil samples were
I
submitted for y the analysis b thlaboratory: - -
y o atory: SBO1@15.5 16; SBO1@20.5 21; SB01@30.5-31; SB02@20. -
5
21; SB02@30.5-31; SB03@20.5-21; and SB03@30.5-31. The samples were field screened using a PID
and sent to the analytical laboratory for TPH-d analysis. During thfel screening of the samples, no
indications of petroleum hydrocarbon contamination were noted either with the PID, or visually. Soil
samples chosen for analysis were determined based on the location of the borings relative to the previous
Iocation of the USTs. Table i summarizes TPH-d analytical results, The complete analytical data can be
found in Appendix A. The analytical results indicate that non detectable concentrations of TPH-d
(<5mglkg)were present in the seven soil samples.
4.2 Estimated Petroleum Hydrocarbon Impact
.p
Based on the laboratory analytical results, it appears that petroleum";hydrocarbon impact is not present in
the subsurface soils at the site, beneath and adjacent to the location fof the two former USTs at depths
12
between 15.5 and 31 feet bgs. No petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in soil samples collected from
SBO1, S1302, and S1303.
ib
5.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Laboratory analytical results indicate that residual petroleum hydrocarbon`s are not present in the
u
locations sampled at the property located at 4950 Bonham Street,Linden, California. Based on the
analytical data and field observations at the time of the subsurface investigation, it is recommended that l
no further action be taken at this site and the regulatory site closure'be granted by the PHS-EHD - San
Joaquin County,
. 8
! I
