Dear Ms. Heran: The letter is to establish my compliance with your Abandoned Tank Policy for tanks 6andoned prior to July 1, 1984 (a copy of which is attached hereto). The tanks were abandoned 9 some unknown:.irne prior to November of 1965 presumably by the prior owners, Louiseaid John )eMartini. It is unI.mown whether they ever contained any substance which is listed as"hazjrdous" iY your agency, but it is believed that at some time prior to the abandonment they may have been iced to store gasoline. At the time of their abandonment, no records of such incapacitation were Xintained or required to be maintained by the Linden Fire Department, according to Fire Chief Pete ffr �fohl. It is not believed that any items were purchased in order to complete the abandonment. i I am the owner ofparcel#091-260-09-I, located at 4950 N. Bonham, Linden, in the County � i San Joaquin, California, and have been since February 19, 1976 . There are two tanks on this =eperty, each with an estimated capacity of four to six thousand gallons, buried on the premises. ,r ae is at an estimated depth of one and one half feet below the surface, and the other is at an 'imated depth of four and one half feet below the surface. According to a consultant who f l .r ected the tanks, in one is approximately 1 %z inches of unknown liquid believed to be water and $e other is approximately 9 inches of unknown liquid. To the best of my knowledge, these tanks were abandoned by a previous owner of the Perty some time prior to November 1965, and at that time the pumps and associated piping were roved and substantially all of the contents removed. I have received a map of the Linden County Water Wells, and note that there is not a single within 1000 feet of the tanks. I enclose a copy of such for your convenience and review.
