The workplan
was prepared for a groundwater investigation at land that might be suitable for application or
storage of domestic wastewater. Before implementing the workplan, please address the
following items:
1. Please add hardness to the list of analytes presented in Section 2.2.2.
2. The discharge of groundwater, if applied to land, may qualify for coverage under
Resolution No. R5-2003-0008, Waiver of Reports of Waste Discharge and Waste
Discharge Requirements for Specific Types of Discharge Within the Central Valley
Region. The document is available at:
http://www.waterboards.ca.gov/centralvalley/adopted_orders/Waivers/R5-2003-0008.pdf.
Please review the document and submit information seeking coverage under the
Resolution if appropriate. Please contact me if you have any questions on the
applicability of the Resolution. If you propose to discharge the pumped water to a
surface water body, please contact Jim Marshall at (916) 464-4772 for National Pollutant
Discharge Elimination System permitting information.
Please note that this approval of groundwater well installation does not indicate that the land
will be acceptable for recycled water storage or treatment. That evaluation must be prepared
in accordance with Waste Discharge Requirements Order No. R5-2006-0094. If you have any
questions on this conditional approval, please telephone me at (916) 464-4616.
I MOTH O'BRIEN
Waste Discharge to Land Unit
cc: Margaret Lagorio, San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department, Stockton
Cary Keaten, Public Works Department, Lathrop
Thomas Butler, PG, ECO:LOGIC Engineering, Stockton
California Environmental Protection Agency
W:UR,WnenTS[n lmquinLLsth_WWIPJti[h17 Nw M.Ea
Of Recycled Paper
