INTRODi1MON
SCS Engineers proposes to excavate, sample, and relocate diesel contaminated soil at
the Ceco Building site, 12101 East Brandt Road,Lockeford, California. (see Figure 1).
The soil will be excavated and placed on 7 rail visqueen, covered, and left on site.
The soil will be randomly sampled and the samples analyzed by EPA Protocol 8015D
for diesel, and 8020 for benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylene (BTEX).
. Anderson
Buildings had been in operation at this Lociceford location since 1976. hour (4)
underground storage tanks were installed in 1980. A San Joaquin
i
County representative and a laboratory representative were in attendance during the
tank removal. There were no obvious leaks or breaks in the tanks, nor any visual
evidence of contamination in the surrounding soil.
`- On October 9, 1989 Ieakage was discovered when the concrete cap was being removed
from the dispensing location. At the time of the discovery the tanks has been out of
service for approximately one year.
