IRIA <br /> Suite 200 <br /> t3164 Gold Camp Drive <br /> Ffty d / r'! 1 f 7 Rancho Cordova,CA 95670-6021 <br /> ` Ornvironmental U S A <br /> Consultants,Inc. 916/638 2085 <br /> FAX 9161638-8385 <br /> October 13, 2000 <br /> Ms Lori Duncan <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services <br /> Environmental Health Division <br /> 304 East Weber Ave , Third Floor <br /> Stockton, CA 95202 <br /> Subject Soil and Groundwater Investigation Report <br /> ARCO Facility No 6080 <br /> 85 Louise Avenue <br /> Lathrop, California <br /> Delta Project No D000-339-1 <br /> Dear Ms Duncan <br /> Delta Environmental Consultants, Inc (Delta) was contracted by Atlantic Richfield <br /> Company (ARCO) to install three groundwater monitoring wells at ARCO Facility No <br /> 6080, located at 85 Louise Avenue, Lathrop, California (Figure 1) In a letter dated <br /> February 14, 2000, San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health <br /> Division (PHS/EHD) requested a work plan to investigate the vertical and lateral extent <br /> of subsurface hydrocarbon impacts to soil and groundwater In response to this letter, <br /> Delta submitted a work plan for initial site assessment on March 17, 2000 PHS/EHD <br /> subsequently approved the work plan This report presents the data collected during the <br /> installation and sampling of the groundwater monitoring wells <br /> Site Back round <br /> The site is currently an active ARCO service station The facility configuration is shown <br /> on Figure 2 In September 1999, verification soil samples were collected from the site in <br /> association with the upgrade of the product delivery lines and dispensers Total <br /> petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHG) was detected in six of the ten soil samples at <br /> concentrations ranging from 1 3 to 6,700 parts per million (ppm) Methyl Tertiary Butyl <br /> Ether (MTBE) was detected in two of the samples at concentrations of 0 93 and 1 71 <br /> ppm Approximately 50 cubic yards of hydrocarbon-impacted soil was excavated from <br /> beneath the former southern pioduct island Five additional soil samples were collected <br /> and analyzed (IT Corporation, January 27, 2000) TPHG was detected in two of the five <br /> samples (3,300 and 9,800 ppm) and MTBE was detected in one sample (0 41 ppm) <br /> Soil generated from the excavation activities was stockpiled onsite and samples were <br /> p p <br /> collected and analyzed After receiving the analytical results, the stockpiled soil was <br /> Providing a Competitive Edge <br />
