Closure <br /> 1. definition: SJC indicated that they require destruction of all monitoring <br /> wells and completion of remediation (including removal of remedial <br /> equipment) before granting closure; therefore, closure will not be <br /> granted on sites undergoing post-remedial monitoring; this will affect <br /> sites considered for closure on basis of RA/FT studies. <br /> 2. monitoring: no discussion <br /> 3. hydrologic cycle: no discussion <br /> 4. Basin Plan amendments: Beth Thayer stated that she is not aware of <br /> the status of the basin plan amendments; she also stated again that <br /> federal and state involvement in the military base closures will have <br /> II . H ould like these reports to <br /> be submitt at least before the sampling d of the following quarter. <br /> o RESNA informe SJ that the res s of the first quarter ground-water <br /> sampling event have en receive and the quarterly monitoring report will <br /> be submitted in Apn . R NA presented the ground-water results <br /> summarized on a plate. <br /> o Mike stated that the gr nd wa in the two upgradient wells (MW-1 and <br /> MW-4) has consistent reported mo rate to high levels of hydrocarbons. He <br /> asked when ARC intended to ess ground water upgradient and <br /> crossgradient fro these wells (i.e. acro Hammer Lane and in the mall <br /> parking area). ESNA stated that access drill in Hammer Lane would <br /> likely not be ranted by Caltrans. SJ asked th an attempt should be made. <br /> o Mike in ired about the results of the air spar pilot test which was <br /> conduc d in December 1992. RESNA informed that the data are <br /> curre y being evaluated and a final report would be bmitted in April. <br /> Prel' inary evaluation indicates that air sparging may be a asible method <br /> of mediation. <br /> 3 <br />
