SECOR
i
SECOR conducted a sensitive receptor survey, which indicated that only one elementary school is within
a mile_radius of the Site. The Lathrop Elementary School is located 0.9 mile northeast of the Site. 'No
other schools or hospitals are located within a mile radius of the.Site. Although off-site sensitive
receptors may include school age children, medically comprised people, and the elderly, .these off-site
people are not expected to be potentially exposed populations because COPCs have not been r mi `
gating . ,
offsite and onsite contamination was limited...
4.3 WATER SURVEYS
In February 2006, URS performed a well records review of the Department of Water Resources (DWR)
and City of Lathrop Public Works Department (CLPWD) records (URS, 2006). No existing water supply
wells were identified within a radius of 2,000 feet from the Site. URS also conducted a 500-foot Site walk
to identify any sensitive receptors. No sensitive receptors were identified with the exception of five
monitoring wells noted at the 76 gas station located directly south of the Site. The 76 gas station site is
also listed on the GeoTracker web site as containing numerous monitoring wells. t
I
4.4 COMPLETE AND POTENTIAL COMPLETE EXPOSURE PATHWAYS
According to Cal-EPA-and USEPA, an,exposure pathway is considered complete or potentially complete
if it meets four basic requirements: I)'presence of chemical sources, 2) release and transport within an
environmental medium, 3)an exposure point for contact, and 4) an exposure route.
Based on the location of'hydrocarbon impacted soil and groundwater (encountered at 11 feet bgs)
beneath the Site and the information regarding the water wells in the vicinity of the Site, the following
exposure pathways are complete and potentially complete for the on-site receptors.
- l
On-site commercial/industrial workers:
E
Inhalation of indoor or outdoor vapors from the impacted soil(addressed by Tier 1 ESLs).
• Direct contact (including outdoor inhalation of VOCs volatilized from soil) with the shallow (153 m
or 10.feet bgs) impacted soil(addressed by Tier 1 ESLs).
• Inhalation of indoor inhalation of vapors (addressed by Tier 1 ESLs) from the impacted
groundwater.
On-site utility/construction workers:
• Direct contact (including outdoor inhalation of VOCs volatilized from soil) with the shallow 053 m
or 10 feet bgs) impacted soil (addressed by Tier 1 ESLs).
9
