All facilities shall be equipped with an internal communication or alarm <br /> system, a device capable of calling outside emergency help, spill control equipment, and decontamination <br /> equipment at all times. Immediately provide spill equipment and maintain on site. <br /> This is a minor violation. <br /> 403 CCR 66262.34(d)(2) Failed to keep hazardous waste containers closed except when adding or removing hazardous <br /> waste. <br /> The following containers were open during the inspection: <br /> In the hazardous waste storage area: <br /> -One blue 55 gallon steel drum containing used antifreeze(1/2 full) had an open bung hole. <br /> -Two black 55 gallon steel drums containing used oil(both 1/2 full)were observed with open bung holes. <br /> In the shop area: <br /> -Three 5 gallon plastic buckets containing used oil did not have lids on them. <br /> -One 5 gallon plastic bucket containing oily water did not have a lid. <br /> -One black 55 gallon steel drum containing metal/paper oil filters did not have the lid secured. <br /> All hazardous waste containers shall be closed at all times except when adding or removing waste. Immediately <br /> close these containers and ensure all hazardous waste containers are closed when not adding or removing waste. <br /> This is a minor violation. <br /> 601 CCR 66262.34(d)Stored hazardous waste onsite greater than 180 days. <br /> The following hazardous waste containers were observed without accumulation start dates: <br /> In the hazardous waste storage area: <br /> -One blue 55 gallon steel drum containing used antifreeze(1/2 full) <br /> -Two black 55 gallon steel drums containing used oil(both 1/2 full) <br /> In the shop area: <br /> -One red 16 gallon drain pan containing used oil <br /> -Three 5 gallon plastic buckets containing used oil <br /> -One 5 gallon plastic bucket containing oily water <br /> -One black 55 gallon steel drum containing metal/paper oil filters <br /> Facilities who generate less than 1000 kg of hazardous waste per month and do not exceed 6000 kg of waste <br /> stored on site at any time may store waste on site up to 180 days. Since it cannot be determined how long the <br /> hazardous waste has been on site, immediately contact a licensed hazardous waste hauler to dispose of this waste <br /> under manifest.
