George F. Schuler, Ina
1705 N. Broadway, Stockton, California August l7, 1993
Phase I Remedial Report Page: 6
6.0 Conclusions and Recommendations
With the exception of an isolated interval of xylene and gasoline at 36 feet in B-2 (Figure
6), a contamination plume exists around MW-1 from the remedial pit floor at 30 feet to
approximately 55 feet below ground level. Also, there is benzene and E-benzene in the
monitoring well MW-1 sample.
The groundwater contamination will require a minimum of three properly positioned:
monitoring wells in order to determine the groundwater gradient, and to help define the
groundwater contamination plume. Borings B-2 and B-3 are positioned and completed as
soil gas extraction wells to provide remediation of the soil contamination plume around
MW-1. Vaccuum testing will have to be conducted on these wells to determine the radius
of influence, and the necessity for additional vapor extraction wells.
The above represents our best professional opinion as to environmental conditions at this
p p F
site. These opinions were derived using data at hand, and using standards of care conL-non
to the environmental consulting community in Northern California. Additional work or
sampling at this site may generate data that could lead to a change of opinion regarding
site conditions or appropriate site remediation procedures, or both.
Prepared by:
' 1RONC9;,P
.Q .qy
Into_02157
• Expires:
Michael I Klobefdanz, REA, REHS tin Q
California Registered Environmental Ass or#02157
California Registered Environmental „alth Special' 783 At'
OF PQ
%GATe My
4613
i s AIPG
ouis D.
