Mr. Jack Ronsko --2- 15 February 1989
5. It is likely that additional down-gradient wells will be
necessary. The data shows that DWR well 21-04A is within
the "mound" created by the City' s ponds. since the proposed
down-gradient monitoring wells are between the ponds and DWR
21-04A it is probable that the monitoring wells will also be
within the "mound" . This condition will not allow for
accurate hydraulic gradient measurements nor will it result
in water quality information representative of the aquifer
down-gradient from the ponds.
At least one additional well should be located further down-
gradient.
This proposal will be approved if the . above recommendations are
satisfied or are shown to be unnecessary with information that is
not currently available to us. Approval will be given over the
phone if appropriate.
Please call me at (916) 361-5667 ifyouu have any further
questions.
DAVID BRENT
Area Engineer
DLB
cc: Mr..
