Please note the email that follows from the DA Office. We will need to discuss how to approach this
accident/complaint prior to going to the site. Currently, Ms. Lisa Matta is assigned to Modesto. We will need to
coordinate with Region as well.
After speaking with the DA representative earlier today, I anticipate requesting CHP assistance. In addition, there is
recent history of assault on a plain clothed police officer and a court appearance yesterday with an order for him to
surrender all his weapons this morning.
RECEIVE['
John
APR 0 9 2015
From: DIR Accident Reports
Sent: Thursday, January 08, 2015 12:53 PM 4'4 PNVIRONMENTAi.
To: Caynak,John@DIR; McIver, Gary@DIR A'—a -ru^cQnvT,firpo-r
Subject: FW: Report of Worker Tramautic Amputation at Pacific Car Wash, Stockton CA Stockton Police report#15-837
G b&
From: Stephen Taylor [ma iIto:Stephen.Taylorasicda.om]
Sent: Thursday, January 08, 2015 12:12 PM
To: 'caloshaaccidentreport@tel-us.com'
Cc: Christopher Chiaramonte
Subject: Report of Worker Tramautic Amputation at Pacific Car Wash, Stockton CA Stockton Police report #15-837
The District Attorney's Office here in Stockton CA today received a preliminary report from Stockton Police Department
of a worker incurring a traumatic amputation on the job at Pacific Car Wash-Pacific Ave, Stockton CA.
The owner reportedly has/is threatening the worker's family-the attached police report is a preliminary report of a
Felony violation of Penal Code §422.That matter is being looked at as this office is already prosecuting the owner for
Felony Assault with Great Bodily Injury regarding an attack on a Stockton Police Sargent.
Your agents should regard this man-Dan Navone-as dangerous inasmuch as he is believed to have a propensity for
violence with little or no provocation. We'd suggest that you consider calling Stockton Police Department for possible
standby before making contact or at least take multiple agents to the business and withdraw to gain assistance if he
becomes agitated. The issue with Mr. Navone relates to over-the-top aggression/violence with strangers.
The existing Felony assault case not pertaining to Pacific Car Wash is being handled by DDA Chris Chiaramonte who can
be reached at 209-468-2423. He will also be evaluating the Pacific Car Wash incident for possible charges. Please
contact him as quickly as possible regarding any actions you may wish to take on the Worker Injury case.
