29 April 2002
AGE-NC Project No. 99-0628
depths to ground water in the wells were within the screen intervals, indicating that the wells are
screened properly to yield representative shallow ground water samples. Ground water elevations
increased an average 3.60 feet between the December 2001 and March 2002 sampling events.
Ground water was inferred to be flowing toward the southwest at an average gradient of
0.0003 foot/foot. Figure 2 illustrates the contoured ground water elevations as measured on
26 March 2002.
3.2. ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
• TPH-mo, TPH-d, and BTEX compounds were not detected at or above laboratory reporting
limits in the ground water samples collected and analyzed from the monitoring wells on-site.
• Cadmium, copper, mercury, chromium, zinc, silver and lead were not detected at or above
laboratory reporting limits in any of the ground water samples collected and analyzed.
• Hexavalent chromium(chromiumVI)was not detected at or above laboratory reporting limits
in any of the ground water samples collected and analyzed.
• Semi-volatile organic compounds were not detected at or above laboratory reporting limits
in any of the ground water samples collected and analyzed.
• Nickel concentrations ranged from 0.014 mg/1 (MW-3) to 0.14 mg/1 (MW-1).
• Arsenic concentrations ranged from 0.0030 mgll (MW-3) to 0.0038 mg/l (MW-2).
• MBAS were detected at concentrations ranging from 0.094 mg/l (MW-3) to 0.15 mg/l
(MW-I).
• The pH of the water samples ranged from 6.90 (MW-1) to 7.30 (MW-3).
The analytical results of water samples collected in March 2002 are summarized on Table 2 and
Table 3. The laboratory report ,QA/QC report and chain-of-custody form are included in Appendix
B.
4.0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
The following conclusions were drawn from the results of this investigation:
• Depths to ground water ranged from 50.36 feet to 51.81 feet below the tops of the well
Advanced GeoEnrironmental.Inc
