Figure 1 shows the location of the site. Activities during the
quarter included sampling groundwater for dissolved hydrocarbons and monitoring groundwater
z; levels.
Groundwater monitoring data collected in October, 1991 reveals a constantly fluctuating water
F{ elevation and gradient due to changes in river tides. Tables I &2 summarize this quarter's and
_: previous rounds of groundwater monitoring data, gradients, and tidal changes. The groundwater
gradient rr+-ap (Figure 2) shows an average gradient of approximately 0.007 foot
per foot or 37
m` feet per anile. Groundwater flow on October 22, 1991 was in a south-southwesterly direction.
Groundwater samples were collected from the three monitoring wells on October 22, 1991, after
stabilization of pH, electrical conductivity (EC), and temperature. The wells were purged using
dedicated submersible pumps. Well purge logs are included in Attachment 1.
The samples were submitted to Applied Analytical of Fremont, CA HS certification
for analyses of total #I211) ,
y petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline and diesel (TPHG & TPHD) utilizing
EPA methods 5030/8015, and for the gasoline constituents benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and
xylenes (BTEX) utilizing EPA method 8020.
