o n . July 23, 1993
r`cel No. 1 Two test holes were dug on Parcel No . 1 . One was
5 ' -6" deep and the other was 25 ' deep. Percolation
tests were run on both. The 25 ' failed and the 5 ' -6"
test hole has a percolation rate of 30 minutes per
inch.
Parcel No. 2 Six exploratory test holes were dug on Parcel No. 2 .
They were at depths of 4 ' -211 , 5 ' -5" , 7 ' -0" , 8 ' -4" , 9 ' -6" ,
and 25 ' -011 . Percolation tests were performed on the
9 ' -6" hole and the 25 ' hole. Both tests failed.
Parcel No. 3 Two preliminary holes were dug on Parcel No. 3 .
were at depths of 9 ' -10" and 24 ' -61' . A percolation
test was performed on the 24 ' -6" hole. The test
failed. A test was not performed on the 9 ' -6" hole
because clay was encountered for the entire depth.
Three foot tests were not performed on any parcel
because heavy clay was encountered at this depth on
all 10 exploratory holes .
A discussion was held on July 16, 1993 at the Health
Department office between Manuel Valadao, owner,
Dwain Tosch, Civil Engineer, and Carl Borgman,
Supervising Enviromental Health Specialist regarding
percolation tests . Mr. Borgman informed Manuel Valadao
and Dwain Tosch that percolation tests had to be
performed on 25 ' deep holes and if the test failed
a 12,000 square foot septic area should be used. I it
This was reaffirmed on July 21 , 1993 by Mr. Borgman
to Manuel Valadao.
A soil profile was not performed because depth to
well water is in excess of 110 ' .
Water Analysis Ili
lil
A domestic well and an irrigation well were sampled
for Nitrates and DBCP. Test results were : Nitrates -
Domestic Well - 6. 1 mg/L, Irrigation Well - 23 . 8mg/L.
DBCP was not detected in either of the wells .
Recommendations
Parcel No. 1 - Leach lines and pits are recommened.
Parcel No. 2 - A 12 , 000 Sq.Ft . minimum usable area
with leach lines and pits .
Parcel No. 3 - New Home - A 12 , 000 Sq.Ft . minimum
usable disposal area with leach lines
and pits .
ii
-3-
i
