South San Joaquin Irrigation District
DRAFT Lead Assessment& Soil Relocation Work Plan
For Discussion Purposes Only. Do Not Distribute July 5, 2017
4.0 Soil Relocation
Soil in each grid will be excavated to the depth of the last sample demonstrating that lead does not
exceed hazardous waste criteria.
Properly trained and equipped personnel will scrape, sweep and excavate the soil surface on SSJID
property using a combination of mechanized equipment, including skid steer loaders, backhoe
excavators and John Deere wheel loaders. Soil will be loaded into dump trucks that will bring the
soil to the ESC property. Because ESC and SSJID properties are adjoining, a ramp will be built
between the two properties and no public roads will be utilized. SSJID will coordinate with ESC with
regard to scheduling and placement of soil. Once on ESC property, management of the soil will be
the responsibility of ESC.
Appropriate dust control, establishment of exclusion areas, tire washes and other measures will be
taken to protect the health and safety of workers and any adjacent personnel.
5.0 Closure Report
A report will be prepared that describes the details and results of all tasks and will be signed by a
licensed California Civil Engineer.
Page 11 Blankinship & Associates , Inc .
