(Cambria)submits this workplan to advance four soil borings and convert three to groundwater <br /> monitoring wells at the site referenced.The workplan is in response to the Regional Water Quality <br /> Control Board's(RWQCB)letter dated November 14,2006(Attachment A).The objectives of this <br /> investigation are to advance a soil boring in the center of the proposed infiltration/evaporation pond <br /> to determine infiltration characteristics by measuring physical properties and soil types beneath the <br /> pond,and to install a network of groundwater monitoring wells to determine baseline groundwater <br /> quality, depth, and flow direction. In addition, the wells will be used to conduct slug tests to <br /> determine the shallow aquifer's hydrologic characteristics.Once the infiltration/evaporation pond is <br /> operational, the wells will be used to monitor the pond's influence on local groundwater. This <br /> workplan includes discussions of the site background, hydrogeology, and the proposed scope of <br /> work. <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> The District owns and operates the Camanche Dam Powerhouse(powerhouse)located at 23900 E. <br /> Buena Vista Road in Clements, San Joaquin County, California.The powerhouse is located at the <br /> base of the Camanche Dam Reservoir on the Mokelumne River,roughly 15 miles east-northeast of <br /> the City of Lodi (Figures 1 and 2). The powerhouse is in San Joaquin County, Assessor Parcel <br /> Number 023-001, Section 6,Township 4N,Range 9E. <br /> The Camanche Dam Reservoir is located 10 miles downstream from Pardee Dam on the Mokelumne <br /> Cambria <br /> Environmental River.Mokelumne River water is stored in the reservoir created by Pardee Dam,38 miles northeast <br /> Technology,Inc. of Stockton,near the town of Jackson.Both Camanche and Pardee Dam Reservoirs store water for <br /> 5900 Hollis Street irrigation and stream-flow regulation, and provide flood control, water to meet the needs of <br /> Suite A <br /> EmeTyville,CA 94608 <br /> Tel(510)420-0700 <br /> Fax(510)420-9170 <br />
