0
GEO ' PHASE
ENVIRONMENTAL
CORRECTIVE ACTION PLAN
Valley Water Treatment
612 N. Buena Vista
Stockton, California
December 12, 2006
GPE Project No. 480.2
1.0 INTRODUCTION
A gasoline release at the subject site has impacted the groundwater with
elevated concentrations of gasoline. The lateral and vertical extent of the
contamination has been established, but groundwater. monitoring data
continue to indicate a small, but persistent groundwater gasoline plume in
the vicinity of the former tank pit.
a
The boring log from a monitoring well (MW-1) through the pit indicates the
presence as elevated concentrations of gasoline inthe soil at a depth of 5 to
E 15 feet below grade. There is little soil contamination.below 15 feet. The
purpose of the proposed excavation is to remove a rsmall volume of the most
highly impacted soil immediately beneath the original tank pit. The removal
of this source of groundwater contamination should allow natural
attenuation to adequately mitigate the release.
2.0 SITE HISTORY
The site consists of a single parcel of light i industrial use Property
encompassing a total area of about 0.8 acres. It is"on the east side of Buena
Vista Avenue at its terminus against the deep water turning basin and just
south the intersection with Fremont Street. A water softener company,
(Valley Water Treatment) has occupied a portion of theparcel.
2937 Veneman Ave.,#B240 Geo-Phase Environmental Inc.
