The site.is „ <br /> located-within the southeast quarter of Section 24, Township 2 South;Range 5 East,Mount Diablo' <br /> r': <br /> 1 Base,and+Meridian (Vernalis Quadrangle, 7.5-Minute USGSTopographfic Series, 1991): <br /> One structure is located,on the'property and'is presently unoccupied.It is our understanding that the <br /> site historically operated as'a.truck depot. <br />' REGIONAL GEOLOGIC SETTING <br /> According'to Geologic-Map of California,(1966, California Department of C6ns6rvation Division f <br /> of Mines and Geology), the site area is within the Great Valley Geomorphic Province (GVGP) of. . <br /> Califomia,'a large, elongate,northwest trending structural'trougE The GVGP is subdivided into two <br /> major divisions designated the Sacramento-and-San Joaquin Valleys, which have been filled to the <br /> present elevation with thick sequences of sediment ranging in age from Jurassic toresent day, <br /> , , <br /> top <br /> resent <br /> a nearly.flat-lying alluvial•plain extending from the'Tehachapi Mountains in'the-sou. Y <br /> th to <br /> the m <br /> Klaath Mountains in the north. The western and easternboundaries of this province are <br /> 14D <br /> comprised of the California Coast Range, and the Sierra Nevada respectively. <br /> - g , , re . <br /> . p . Y <br />' Based on General Soil Map (1992, United .States Department of Agriculture. Soil Conservation <br /> Service)obtained from the San Joaquin County Soil Survey, the site area is shown as being within <br /> the Cap ay-Stomar-Zacharias(CSZ)soil association.The CSZ soils are located on interfan basins and ; <br /> on. alluvial.fans and.stre' am.'terraces in the southwestern part of San Joaquin County. The: soils <br /> generally,consist of moderate to well drained, fine textured soils. The CSZ soils generally formed <br /> in alluvium derived from sedirnentary,'and mixed rock sources. <br /> ' GROUND'WATER DEPTH AND GRADIENT- REGIONAL <br /> Based'on information from the Lines Of Equal Elevation Of Water In'WeM'. Unconfined Aquifer <br /> Spring 1993, published by the California Department of Water Resources; the estimated ground ,- <br />' water elevation at the.site is, approximately 50 feetabove,,se'a level. Based on an approximate <br /> elevation of 35'feet above sea level, the depth to ground water at the site is-assumed to be•'15 feet <br /> below'surface grade-`(bsg).
