WELLMONITORING AND PURGING
On 22 March 2003, monitoring wells•MWI through MW6, MW8 and MW9 and domestic well
' DWS 157 were purged and sam led.Due to construction aci ivit'
p g . p t. les being performed at the site,swells .
MW7 and MW 10 could not be located and subsequently were not monitored or sampled: A Solinst.
water.,level meter was used to measure the depth to ground water to the nearest 0.01-foot in the eight
'
monitoring,Wells relative to the tops' of the well casings..The ground water elevations andgradient
Were deterrriined from these data (Table -1). '
After recording water•level, measurements, new disposable plastic_bailers were used to purge each ,
monitoring"well •of standing,Water. Between five and eight gallons of water (a-minimum'of
Teasing-water volumes per'well)were removed from each well. Ground water temperature,pH and,
conductivity were measured at regular intervals during purging using an Oakton water analyzer:To
purge DW5157, a.hose bib'was opened on the water'storage tank. The pump was allowed to.cycle
E on,and off for approximately 15 minutes. Field sheets and data are included-in Appendix A. Forged
water was stored on-site in labeled, 55-gallon DOT-approved drums.
Advanced GeoEnviionniental,inc.
