' 16 May 2002
AGE-NC Project No. 98-0440
IPage 3 of 5
Each-sample.was analyzed for: •'
•, TPH-g and TPH-d by'EPA Methods 8015M/5030/3550;
' BTEX.and MTBE by EPA Method:8020;
• The fuel additives DIPS, ETBE, MTBE, TAME; TBA, EDB and 1,2-DCA in accordance
with EPA Method 82601VI
. 3.0. FINDINGS
Ground water elevation, flow.direction, and gradient were determined from field data collected on
25 March 2002;the c.ontaminant.impact to ground water was quantified by the laboratory analytical '
data.
3.1. ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF GRAB GROUNDWATER SAMPLES -
•' TPH- was detected in the water samples collected from B8 and B9 at concentrations of 71
g p
micrograms per liter, (µg/1) and 88 gg/l, respectively. TPH-d was detected in the water sample
' collected from B9 at a concentration of 140 gg/l. Ethylbenzene and total xylenes were detected in
the sample from B8 at concentrations of 1.2 µg/l and 1.3 gg/l, respectively. Toluene, ethylbenzene
and total xylenes were detected in the water sample collected'flom boring B9 at concentrations of
0.62-gg/l,0:72 µg/l and 4.3 µg/1,respectively.No other analytes were detected at or above laboratory'
reporting limits in the grab ground water samples analyzed. . _
' Analytical results of gab ground water samples.are summarized on Table 3. The laboratory report .
(MAI Lab I.D. Nos. 88232 through 88233), quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) report
and chain-of-custody form's are,included in Appendix B.
3.2: GROUND WATER GRADIENT,AND FLOW DIRECTION -
The elevation of ground water in each well was calculated by subtracting'the depth-to ground water
from the surveyed well casing elevations (Table 1).
Depths to ground water ranged, from 13.59 feet to14.20 feet below the well casing tops. Ground .
water elevations-at the site ranged from 26.10 feet:above mean sea level (MSL) in well MW3 to ,
' 26.87 feet above MSL in well MW1. Ground water elevations at the site'decreased an average of
' Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
