"'. MAY 13, 2000 <br />FORMAN'S MEETING <br />ALL SHOPS: <br />SHOPS ARE NOT TO HAVE WASTE OIL SITTING IN UNATTENDED OIL DRAIN <br />PANS ON THE SHOP FLOOR. These are ok while the oil is <br />draining, but should be emptied and put away as soon as possible. <br />USE SHOP WET -DRY VACUUM CLEANERS FOR OIL SPILLS. These should <br />be marked Waste Oil, Hazardous Material. I will get you the <br />stickers. Use these only for waste oils, or fuel spills. If <br />your vacuum does not have a squeezie attachment, let me know and <br />I will get you one. This can be put into our waste oil <br />containers. TRY TO USE THEM. <br />GREASE SWEEP: <br />A. New product should be kept in manufacture's bag. <br />B. Re -usable product can be kept in an open 5 gallon plastic <br />bucket. This should be reused until no longer effective. <br />C. Waste product should be put into a 20 gallon metal can with <br />a cover. We will have one of these per shop. <br />D. 20 gallon waste cans will be emptied into 55 gallon hazardous <br />grease sweep drums. (1) in the tear down area by the oil <br />filter barrel, (1) in the dismantling area by the oil filter <br />barrel. <br />ALSONEEDED TO DO: <br />Truck Shop: <br />Install a removable plug in the top of our waste oil drums on <br />skids. <br />Tear Down Shop: <br />A. Drain out current waste antifreeze plastic drum (check to see <br />it this is waste antifreeze) into the waste antifreeze container <br />in the dismantling storage area. <br />B. Repaint one skid container for Waste Antifreeze, Green. <br />Dismantling: <br />Clean up secondary storage area. <br />A. Identify all drums and containers. Possibly remove 500 <br />gallon "reusable diesel tank and old fuel pump? Reusable <br />antifreeze 300 gallon plastic container? Mark all remaining <br />drums. <br />C. Clean up and relabel WASTE OIL, and WASTE ANTIFREEZE tanks. <br />D. Lock up gate valve, in closed positions, on secondary <br />containment area. This should only be open to clean up area. <br />E. Locate a container to store broken or cracked waste batteries. <br />This should have a water tight bottom, and be stored inside.
