Box 388 <br /> Stockton, CA 95201-0388 CET Project #796 <br /> RE: EL RANCHO ROCK & SAND INC., QUARRY SITE RECLAMATION <br /> INVESTIGATION REPORT <br /> POTENTIALLY CONTAMINATED SOILS <br /> Dear Mr. Wilson; <br /> Condor Earth Technologies, Inc., (Condor) has been retained by El Rancho Rock & Sand, <br /> Inc./Terra Industries, Inc. to implement the approved Reclamation Plan for the El Rancho Rock <br /> & Sand, Inc., Quarry at 8020 Waverly Road in Linden, California. Condor is implementing <br /> the Reclamation Plan under the direction of Mr. Tom Gau of the Development Services <br /> Division. <br /> As was indicated in Condor's letter to you dated April 22, 1994, during the course of excavation <br /> and earthmoving activities at the site, potentially contaminated soil was encountered in the <br /> subsurface beneath the plant site. Per the approved Reclamation Work Plan, work was stopped <br /> in the area of contamination, and the Department of Environmental Health was notified. A <br /> Work Plan addressing potentially contaminated soils has been submitted to you, and we are <br /> awaiting your review and approval. <br /> Condor has characterized the potential contamination encountered in the area designated "Slab- <br /> 1", as described in the enclosed Investigation Report #1. Recommendations on how to proceed <br /> are included in the report.
