The water system is only
responsible for repairing leaks up to the hose bib that the MH connects to. The leak is under the MH, much makes
it the responsibility of the owner of the MH to repair this leak. There is a question as to who really owns the MH.
The Certified Operator verified the leak is under the MH and it is leaking at 1-2 qpm. It maybe the hose that
makes the connection to the hose bib from the water system, but he could not really tell. He took water samples
to test for bacteria at the spaces on either side of space 56, at the hose bib to space 56 and at the kitchen sink
of space 56. The samples were clear, no sheen or color to them. The results should be read by tonight or
tomorrow morning. The water system has been testing absent for bacteria for many months.
The email below was sent to Ingrid Marlow who is the daughter of the property owner Mr. John Marlow.
Adrienne
From: Adrienne Ellsaesser [EH]
Sent: Tuesday, August 05, 2014 4:37 PM
To: ' (Ingrid.marlow(agmail.com)'
Cc: 'caseywichert@valleyoperators.com'
Subject: Problem at Islander Marina MHP
Hi Ingrid,
Our Department received a complaint regarding a leak from a water line under a RV that I am told is owned by the
MHP, not the tenant. The leak is at 1-2 gpm at space 56. As the owner of the RV you are required to fix this leak
and especially in light of the Drought Emergency. Please let me know when you will have a repair person out to make
the correction.
Thank you
Adrienne
Adrienne Ellsaesser, REHS
Unit IV Program Coordinator
Groundwater Protection Programs:
Site Mitigation/LOP/Small Public Water Systems
San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department
1868 East Hazelton Avenue
i
