M. Scott Mansholt _ 4
Chevron 22 October 2008
Mountain House Site #4
and beneath the highway ROW. Water board staff concurs with the summary provided in the
No Further Action Required Request for Mountain House Development Site #4 and that the
property is a candidate for closure.
The Central Valley Water Board is required to provide the public the opportunity to comment
on closure decisions under state law (including Health and Safety Code 25356.1). Central
Valley Water Board staff are increasing efforts to include public participation in its site closure
programs. As part of this effort, Central Valley Water Board staff will be notifying nearby
landowners, residents, and occupants of closure cases we oversee.
Pursuant to Section 2728 of the California Code of Regulations, Title 23, Division 3,
Chapter 16, the Central Valley Water Board requests that you conduct a property and offsite
property owner survey (Survey). The Survey should determine: a) all properties overlying soil
and groundwater determined to have been impacted by the historical pipelines' release
and b) adjacent properties within a 200-foot radius of the impacted areas delineated at the
Site. Upon completion of the Survey, submit a table or spreadsheet listing property owner
names and mailing addresses, business and residence mailing addresses, and assessors'
parcel numbers and corresponding map(s).
By 20 February 2009, please submit the results of the Survey.
Central Valley Water Board staff will submit written notification regarding the proposed site
closure to parties listed on the Survey and provide them an opportunity to submit comments.
Following completion of a 30-day public notice period and provided all substantive comments
are resolved, the Central Valley Water Board will issue a No Further Action Required
determination.
If you have any questions or comments, please call Dean Hubbard at (559) 445-5179.
SHELTON R.
