M. Scott Mansholt - 5 - 4 April 2008
Mountain House Site #2
By 1 July 2008, please submit documentation that Mountain House Community Services
District has been notified regarding the soil and groundwater conditions associated with
Mountain House Site #2. Include documentation that Mountain House Community Services
District was provided a copy of the SMP and they were notified that land use within the Byron
Road right-of-way is limited to commercial/industrial purposes and if land use conditions
change, the health risk evaluation may need to be revised.
The Regional Water Boards are required to involve the public in site closure decisions under
state law (including Health and Safety Code 25356.1). Regional Water Board staff is
increasing its efforts to include additional public participation in its site closure programs. As
part of this effort, Regional Water Board staff will be notifying nearby landowners, residents,
and occupants of closure cases we oversee. Pursuant to Section 2728 of the California Code
of Regulations, Title 23, Division 3, Chapter 16, the Regional Water Board request that you
conduct a site and offsite property Owner survey (Survey).
Conduct the Survey by obtaining property owner names and mailing addresses, business and
residence mailing addresses, and assessors' parcel numbers for all properties overlying soil
and groundwater historically impacted by the former pipelines' release and all properties
adjacent to those impacted properties. The data should be presented in a table or
spreadsheet. Include assessors' parcel maps for the properties and a map depicting the
extent of impacted soil and/or groundwater.
By 15 August 2008, please submit the results of the Survey. If you have any questions
regarding the matters discussed above, please call Dean Hubbard at (559) 445-5179.
SHELTON R. GRAY C.
