Since these are water samples, if <br /> the product is crude, its fingerprint would be distorted from interactions between the oil/water which would affect <br /> the pattern match. <br /> It is important to note that the TPH GRO and TPH DRO analyses are not interpretive analyses. The GRO result <br /> represents all hydrocarbons found in the C6-C12 range and cannot be used to identify fuel type. Likewise, the <br /> TPH DRO result represents all hydrocarbons found in the C10-C28 range and cannot be used to identify fuel <br /> type. It should not be assumed that the concentrations detected by these analyses represent gasoline or diesel. <br /> Our senior chemists can review chromatograms generated by these analyses to determine if the pattern <br /> resembles the pattern that we would typically expect for gasoline or diesel or another fuel that elutes in these <br /> ranges, however, a positive identification cannot be made because multiple fuel standards are not analyzed per <br /> the method.
