New stainless steel tubes used for sample collection were also so decontaminated using
' the same methodology.
Please note that additional excavation activities and soil sample collection and analyses may be
' necessary based on the requests of SJC/EHD and or based on confirmation soil sampling results
which are above the counties requirements or relevant cleanup goals.
' This workplan does not address backfilling and compaction operations related to the proposed
excavation.
' Task 3 - Laboratory Analysis
Based on the positive soil sampling results summarized in the Background Section of this
' workplan and none detect results, Kleinfelder proposed that the five confirmation soil samples
and two 4-point composite samples (stockpile and drummed material) be analyzed for the
following:
' • Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as referenced to Diesel [TPH-D] by EPA 8015M
' • BTEX by EPA Method 8260
• Volatile Organic Compounds by EPA Method 8260
' • 5 LUFT Metals, Cd, Cr, Pb, Ni and Zn by EPA Methods.
Please note additional analyses may be necessary for landfill acceptance requirements from
' drummed and stockpiled material, depending upon the specific landfill. At the request of
SJRTD, the samples will be analyzed on a 24-hour rush turn-around-time (TAT). Please note
that the expedited TAT includes additional costs.
' Task 4—Reportin!
Upon completion of the field activities and receipt of the analytical results a report of findings will
be prepared for client review. The report will include:
' • A description of the field activities, observations, and protocols;
• Tabulated results of soil samples with copies of certified results;
• A graphical representation of soil sampling locations;
• Description and documentation of QA/QC procedures employed for field and laboratory
work; and
• Kleinfelder's conclusions and recommendations based on the data acquired.
All information gathered during the study by Kleinfelder is considered confidential and will be
released only upon written authorization from the client or as required by law. California law
requires a person to inform the state if a situation is encountered that can be considered an
' immediate endangerment to the public's health or welfare and/or to the environment.
