(Condor)
and has the following comments.
The Report documents work conducted with three cone penetrometor test (CPT) borings utilizing an ultra-
violet optical screening tool (UVOST) to continue the investigation of the vertical and lateral extent of the
petroleum hydrocarbon contamination at your site. Soil and grab groundwater samples were collected
from the borings and submitted for laboratory analysis. Reported results from the analyses indicate highly
impacted groundwater and soil to depths of approximately 60 feet below surface grade (bsg).
The Report recommends additional site investigation using CPT technology, and using the monitoring
wells of neighboring contaminated UST sites for evaluation of your groundwater contamination. The EHD
does not agree with these recommendations. While you may use applicable data from nearby sites to aid
in the characterization of your site, based on the findings presented in the report you need to install
groundwater monitoring wells on your site.
Please proceed with preparation and submittal of a work plan to continue the investigation of the lateral
and vertical extent of the documented petroleum hydrocarbon contamination at your site, including the
installation of groundwater monitoring wells. The work plan is due to the EHD no later than May 15, 2009.
Per California Code of Regulations, Title 23, Division 3, Chapter 30, Section 3890, all contaminated
underground storage tank (UST) sites must submit electronically all laboratory analytical data, reports of
findings, site maps, depth to water measurements, and monitoring well longitude, latitude and elevation
survey data to Geotracker, the State Water Resource Control Board website. No documents from your
site have been submitted to Geotracker. Please become compliant with this regulation.
If you have any questions please call Lori Duncan at (209)468-0337.
Sincerely,
Lori Duncan, REHS Nuel C. Henderson, Jr., PG
Registered Environmental Health Specialist Engineering Geologist
c: James Barton, CVRWQCB, 11020 Sun Center Drive, #200, Rancho Cordova CA 95670
Bill Cook, Condor, 188 Frank West Circle, Suite 1, Stockton CA 95206
