The headings share the same number as the requested items.
SITE EVALUATION
Characterization of the Site
In November of 1992 five fuel USTs and one used motor oil tank were removed. Soil samples
taken from under the USTs and the dispensing equipment indicated the presence of
hydrocarbons. The resultant investigation has lead to the following generalized model.
There are three water bearing layers of concern. One sand layer at 20-40', another sand layer at
45-80' and the clays and silts at 90-100' which may receive leachate from the second sand layer
above. The prominent direction of ground water flow is N 60'E with a gradient s=0.004ft/ft.
The 20-40' sand layer is bounded on the West and the South by the bearing of the gradient. The
20-40' sand layer is bounded on the North by CPT#3. The 20-40' sand layer was encounter in
the boring for MW-10 at depths of approximately 27'-32'. The 20-40' sand layer does not taper
fast enough to be considered bounded by MW-10. The 20-40' sand layer is still unbounded on
the East.
The 45-80' sand layer is bounded on the West and the South by the bearing of the gradient, The
