Claim Number12992: The CUF noted that over one million
dollars had been reimbursed on the site and that no active remediation had been implemented,
and that five dozen monitoring locations were regularly monitored, creating much unnecessary
data. The CUF recommended that the END require the responsible party (RP) to implement
active remediation without delay The END agrees that active remediation is needed for the site
and notes that soil vapor extraction (SVE) was implemented on the site in December 2009 and
insitu air sparging (lAS) is expected to be activated in July 2010_ Also, byletter dated 31 March
2009, the END had directed semi-annual monitoring for 7 wells, annual monitoring for 19 wells,
and suspended monitoring of 35 wells.
i
1211 Turnpike Road, Stockton, CA, Claim Number 3753. The CUF recommended that the
I EHD consider this site for closure. A No Further Action Required request report has been
recently received by the EHD for the site and the EHD will be considering the site for closure. I
300 S. California Street, Stockton, CA; Claim Number 9492: The CUF recommended that the
END require the RP to assess and implement an alternative groundwater remediation
technology to achieve water quality objectives (WQOs) more rapidly Groundwater remediation
on the site has not been active for some time as the RP claims that limited funds precludes
replacing the granulated activated charcoal while continuing monitoring and lateral assessment.
Two additional down-gradient monitoring wells were installed this month. The END agrees with
the CUF recommendation and will direct the groundwater remediation system to be reactivated
and other groundwater remediation technologies to be evaluated.
2315 N. California Street, Stockton, CA; Claim Number 11775: The CUF concurred with the
EHD directive to conduct additional risk assessment of the site, The risk assessment recently
r
June 2010 Annual 5-year Reviews - Mike's Sites.doc
i
