Skips Service (former) page 2
300 S. California Street, Stockton
3. The groundwater gradient direction at this site has historically been to the northeast.
The proposal to install MW-10 100 feet directly east of monitoring wells MW-8s/MW-8d
may be too far to the south to intercept the extent of the groundwater contaminant
plume estimated by your consultant and shown on the figure included in the work plan.
In order to better investigate the northeast migration of the contaminated groundwater
detected in monitoring wells MW-8s/8d, the EHD recommends that MW-10 be placed
further to the north and closer to the estimated direction of the plume as depicted in the
figure included in the work plan,
4. Elevated levels of benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, total xylenes (BTEX) were detected
in groundwater samples collected from CPT-6. The EHD requires the soil and
groundwater samples collected from proposed MW-11 to be analyzed for BTEX.
Please ensure that a revision to the work plan that addresses the items listed above is
successfully uploaded to Geotracker for EHD review by December 9, 2009.
You may contact Micha I Infurna at (209) 468-3454 if you have any questions.
Michael J. Infurna Jr., HS Nuel Henderson Jr., P.G.
Senior Registered Environmental Health Specialist Engineering Geologist
c: Mr. James Barton, CVRWQCB
Mr. Michael Vlach, Foothill Engineering, 8442 Story Ridge Way, Antelope CA 95843
Mr. Mark Owens, SWRCB-Clean Up Fund
