RECOMMENDATIONS
The work covered in this report verifies earlier work concerning the geotechnical lithology of the site
. and the area to the northeast within the State Route 4 right of way. The sand stratus between thirty-
five feet and sixty-five feet are the main conduits of the contamination migration.
It is recommended by this author that a monitoring well with a total depth of sixty feet and ten feet
of screen be placed in the sidewalk on the north side of Lafayette street. This sand strata has the
highest potential for contaminate migration. It is also recommended that a CPT to one hundred feet
be installed down gradient in the State Route 4 right of way about two hundred feet northeast of the
UST excavation. It is also recommended that a second CPT be installed about two hundred feet east
of the UST excavation in the side walk on the south side of Lafayette street. These two CPT's would
further define the vertical and horizontal extent of the contamination plume.
It is recommended that future quarterly water samples be analyzed for oxygenates to help determine
the source of these compounds.
Any questions on this report should be directed to Ervin Rifenburg,at Foothill Engineering 209/368-
9381.
Respectfully submitted,
Foothi En neeri
ZV
Ervin Ri n , P P. ,
cc: Olivarez
r4erz-Wu
4
