(AGE) and
has the following comments.
Based on historical lack of contaminant detection in groundwater samples
collected from monitoring wells MW-2 , MW-3 , MW4 and MW-5 , AGE
recommends in the QMR to switch to sampling these wells on an annual
schedule . SJC/EHD agrees with this recommendation .
The Work Plan proposes a scope of work to investigate the lateral extent of the
groundwater contamination detected in mid-level monitoring wells MW-7 and
MW-8, which are screened between 60 and 70 feet below surface grade (bsg).
The up gradient extent of the contamination will be explored with the installation
of one groundwater monitoring well to approximately the same depth . This well
will also allow for the determination of the groundwater flow direction at this
depth . Cross- and down gradient extent of the contamination will be explored
with grab groundwater samples collected from cone penetrometor test (CPT)
borings . The target depth of the CPT borings is 80 feet bsg. SJC/EHD approves
the proposed scope of work.
You have previously been directed to prepare a feasibility study for remediation
of the groundwater contamination and to provide technical justification for AGE's
proposal to conduct dual phase extraction at the site. These documents must be
submitted following completion of the proposed investigation .
Please proceed with submittal of a San Joaquin County Well Permit Application ,
required $89 . 00 permit fee and $294 . 00 permit inspection fee for each parcel of
land on which drilling will take place. Encroachment permits and/or access
