(AGE) and has the following comments . <br /> The report documents the continued investigation of the contaminated underground storage tank <br /> site referenced above . The investigation included the advancement of three cone penetrometer <br /> test (CPT) borings to approximately 200 feet below surface grade (bsg) to determine the site <br /> lithology and to collect discrete grab groundwater samples for analysis. Two or three water <br /> samples were collected from each boring . Analytical results indicate that the vertical extent of the <br /> groundwater contamination is not defined in the former tank pit area , or to the north west of this <br /> area. Analytical results from a boring located to the north east of the former UST area were non- <br /> detect except for 4.9 micrograms per liter (pg/1) trichloroethene reported in the groundwater <br /> sample from the 172-176 bsg interval . <br /> The report recommends additional assessment, both on and offsite to continue the investigation <br /> of the lateral and vertical extent of the groundwater contamination . SJC/EHD agrees that <br /> additional assessment is necessary. Clusters of deep , discretely screened monitoring wells <br /> should be installed to confirm the contamination noted at depth in the CPT investigation . Lateral <br /> assessment cross-gradient to the south of the former UST area has been previously directed ; <br /> utilities in the sidewalks and street have prevented drilling in those areas, Access agreements <br /> from the property owner of the parcel south of Oak Street should be pursued .
