Boring logs documenting sample observations and well
construction details are included in Appendix B .
3.0 , ADJACENT SITE INVESTIGATIONS
One leaking UST investigation site is located directly north of the Stallworth Auto Sales site
at 630 North California Street. The site is id ntified as the San Joaquin County Record
Center (Geotracker site ID T10000004659)
After locating a vent pipe , which is typically associated with a historic UST, Condor Earth
Technologies performed a limited subsurface investigation on 05 May 2011 to identify if
petroleum hydrocarbon impact had occurred to soil as a result of a leaking UST. During the
May 2011 investigation , four continuous core borings (GP1 through GP4) were advanced
in the vicinity of the suspected UST to a depth of 30 feet bsg . During the investigation a
total of fifteen samples were submitted for laboratory analysis . TPH-g was detected in
seven of the fifteen samples at a maximum concentration of 8 , 100 mg/kg in boring GP2
Bt 15 feet bsg . Benzene was not reported in any of the samples collected during the
investigation . However, toluene , ethylbenzene and total xylenes were detected in nine of
fifteen samples at maximum concentrations of 48 mg/kg , 190 mg/kg and 780 mg/kg .
On 29 March 2012, Condor Earth Technologies (CET) and Jim Thorpe Oil excavated and
closed in-place one 375 gallon, single-walled UST. Prior to abandonment soil samples
were collected from the western and eastern walls of the tank excavation . Constituents of
concern were not reported in excavation samples collected during the investigation . The
CET prepared , Underground Storage Tank Closure In-Place and Soil Sampling Report,
dated 20 April 2012 , documents removal of the tank and the previous subsurface
investigation at the site .
4.0. SOIL PROPERTIES / HYDROSTRATIGRAPHY
Hydrogeologic or hydrostratigraphic units (HUs) are defined as a body of rock or sediment
that has hydrogeologic characteristics (i . e , hydraulic conductivity, pore pressure, etc. ) that
Advanced GcoEnvironmental, Inc.
