CONDOR EARTH TECHNOLOGIES, INC. GENERAL HEALTH & SAFETY PLAN <br /> FOR WORKING WITH PETROLEUM HYDROCARBONS, <br /> ORGANIC VAPORS AND LIQUID CONTAMINANTS <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> Condor Earth Technologies, Inc. has adopted the following Health & Safety Plan for working with <br /> petroleum hydrocarbons, organic vapors, and liquid contaminants that may be encountered during <br /> investigative excavation and sampling operations. Condor technicians will employ photoicnization <br /> detector (PID) organic vapor monitoring technology to monitor exposure in order to meet Short Term <br /> Exposure Limit (STEL) requirements. The purpose of this plan is to provide health and safety precautions <br /> for the initial and subsequent site visits until the nature and magnitude of the contaminants have been <br /> evaluated. <br /> I � <br /> All work will be done in general accordance with current OSHA regulations and all personnel working <br /> within the exclusion zone at the project site will have completed a 40-hour OSHA training course. A <br /> tailgate safety meeting will be held prior to commencement of work each day and a Health & Safety Plan <br /> will be discussed with and presented to all crewmembers for their signatures. <br /> ( This Health & Safety Plan is limited to provisions for safe work practices related to exposure to <br /> �- petroleum products in soil. The suspected contaminants are listed on the contact information page. <br /> 2.0 GENERAL SAFETY MEASURES <br /> Access to the project site shall be limited by the exclusion zone. The exclusion zone shall include an area <br /> _ at least ten feet from the sampling location and sampling equipment. Non-authorized personnel shall not <br /> I Ll be allowed in the exclusion zone. No smoking will be allowed in the exclusion zone. <br /> All Condor personnel, subcontractors, and consultants shall adhere to the provisions of the Condor Site <br /> fSafety Plan including all applicable elements of the Condor Illness and Injury Prevention Program (IIPP). <br /> I_. <br /> All of the above personnel who participate in fieldwork at the site will attend a safety indoctrination <br /> [;I provided by the Condor Site Safety Officer. The Condor Site Safety Plan is maintained in this work plan. <br /> _ I Copies of this work plan shall be available to all working units of Condor, its subcontractors and consultants. <br /> 2.1 SITE SAFETY OFFICER RESPONSIBILITIES <br /> - - The Site Safety Officer shall monitor all activities of equipment and personnel at the project site. Site <br /> Safety Officer responsibilities will include the following: <br /> I . Limiting access to the exclusion zone to authorized personnel. <br /> 2. Providing written log of on-site activities and events. <br /> 3 . Notification of regulatory agencies during emergency procedures. <br /> J 4. Enforcement of contaminant exposure site safety precautions. <br /> 5 .
