i i i CONDOR EARTH TECHNOLOGIES,INC. GENERAL HEALTH& SAFETY PLAN FOR WORKING WITH ORGANIC VAPORS AND'LIQUID CONTAMINANTS Condor Earth Technologies, Inc. has adopted the following Health & Safety Plan for working with organic vapors and liquid contaminants that may be encountered during investigative excavation, drilling, and sampling operations. Condor technicians will employ photoionization detector (PID) Organic Vapor Monitoring technology to monitor exposure in order to meet Short Term Exposure Limit (STEL) requirements. The purpose of this plan is to provide health and safety precautions for the initial and subsequent site visits until the nature and magnitude of the contaminants have been evaluated. All work will be done in general accordance with current OSHA regulations and all personnel working within the exclusion zone at the project site will have com leted'''a-40-hour OSHA HAZ P WOPER course. A tailgate safety meeting will be held prior to commencement of work each day and a Health & Safety Plan will be discussed with and presented to all crew members for their signatures. This Health & Safety Plan is limited torovisions for safe- e work practices related to exposure to petroleum products to include Diesel, Kerosene, Motor Oil, and other petroleum oils. The suspected contaminants are listed .on the cover page and respective Material Data Safety Sheets for suspected contaminants are attached. I I GENERAL SAFETY MEASURES Access to the project site shall be limited by the exclusion zone. The exclusion zone shall include an area { at least ten feet from the Geoprobe rig and associated equipment.No one will be allowed in the exclusion zone without proof of OSHA HAZWOPER certification and appropriate personal protective equipment. No smoking will be allowed in the exclusion zone. All Condor personnel, subcontractors, and consultants shall adhere to the provisions of the Condor Site j Safety Plan including all applicable elements of the Condor Illness and Injury Prevention Program(IIPP). All of the above personnel who participate in fieldwork at the site will attend a safety indoctrination provided by the Condor Site Safety Officer. The Condor Site Safety Plan is maintained in this work plan. Copies of this work plan shall be available to all working units of Condor, its subcontractors and consultants. SITE SAFETY OFFICER RESPONSIBILITIES The Site Safety Officer shall monitor all activities of equipment land personnel at the project site. Site Safety Officer responsibilities will include the following: 1: Limiting access to the exclusion zone to authorized personnel. . 2. Providing written log of on-site activities and events. .3 Notification of regulatory agencies during emergency procedures. 4. Enforcement of contaminant exposure site safety precautions. 5. Document all injuries and safety incidents. During excavation in soils containing organic vapors and liquid contaminants, all personnel shall undertake the following precautions: I� i
