� 4 <br /> VEHICLE MAINTENANCE AND SAFETY . <br /> All Condor vehicles used on site during the course of work shall.be equipped with a first aid kit and a dry <br /> chemical fire extinguisher(10 BC minimum rating). <br /> j <br /> All cabs are to be kept free of all non-essential items and all loose items secured. <br /> The rated load capacity of a vehicle is not to be exceeded at any time or under any circumstances... <br /> Drill rig cables, hoses and ropes are to be safely secured and periodically checked for abrasion or defect. <br /> Unsafe equipment shall be replaced immediately. Other equipment will be safely stored and secured when <br /> not in use. <br /> The Site Safety Officer shall review with all personnel. and subcontractors the e uipment inspection <br /> I. C vrb o et a <br /> checklist for company vehicles. The Site Safety Officer shall also'confirm that the cauatar operator has p--. <br /> performed a pre-startup safety inspection/observation prior to the 'start of work and that adequate water is <br /> available at the site for emergency decontamination and washing in case a worker is exposed to <br /> i' contaminated water or soil. <br />{ <br /> Field vehicles shall park in an area that is a safe distance from operating equipment and vehicle traffic <br /> with the location approved by the Site Safety Officer. Care must be given when approaching heavy <br /> equipment. Personnel on foot should approach from a direction facing the operator and not a blind side. <br /> i Eye-to-eye contact should be made before proceeding within the working limits of the operator and their <br /> heavy equipment. <br /> OVERHEAD HAZARDS <br /> Overhead hazards include utility lines and trees. Prior to performing work requiring the operation of <br /> equipment above eye level, the evaluation of overhead hazards shall be made. Equipment shall be located <br /> to maximize the clearance from overhead hazards (minimum 10 feet clearance). <br /> UNDERGROUND UTILITIES <br /> Condor personnel have contacted Underground Service Alert prior to drilling activities. The property <br />{{' owner is responsible for marking, the location of their own underground utilities. The approximate <br /> I location of underground utilities shall be marked on the existing ground surface. A minimum of 3 feet <br /> clearance shall be given to marked utilities. If drilling near utilities is required, hand excavation and <br /> probing shall be performed in 6-inch intervals prior to drilling. <br /> I <br /> MOVING AND ROTATING MACHINERY <br /> Excavation activities involve the use of large, heavy, moving and rotating equipment. Loose fitting <br /> clothing that can be caught or snagged should be avoided. Working gloves should beworn while working <br /> with moving metal parts and equipment. <br /> PHYSICAL HAZARDS <br /> CUTTING SOIL SAMPLES FROM ACETATE SAMPLE LINERS <br /> The cut edge of the acetate liner can be very sharp. Exercise caution when cutting and handling the <br /> sample liners to avoid cuts to the hands. <br /> i <br />; <br />
