Soil gas samples were collected in Summa canisters and analyzed in.
the laboratory by EPA Method TO-14 for the constituents of concern, COC (total
petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg), benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, total
xylenes (BTEX), fuel oxygenates and additives). The data was evaluated against the
San Francisco Bay Regional Water Quality Contrc I Board (SFBRWQCB), Environmental
Screening Levels (ESL). The soil gas samples results indicated that no COCs were
detected at significant levels and your consultant as recommended site closure.
The EHD concurs. Please submit a No Further Action Request (NFAR) report. Please
include the minimum information listed in the Tri-Regional Guidelines, April 2004,
section 6.6. The closure checklist should also be ncluded in the NFAR as well as a time
estimate when the water quality objectives will a reached. Included in discussions
required in the NFAR should be an estimate I time that the dissolved petroleum
hydrocarbons in the groundwater will reach water quality objectives (WQOs).
Before the EHD can complete its review of the N FAR and issue a comment letter, the
soil vapor probes/wells still in place must be destroyed under a permit issued by the
EHD. A Well Permit Application Form and $610 fE e will be required for this work.
If you have any ques 'ons, please contact Michael Infurna at (209) 468-3454.
Michael J.
