There were two underground storage tanks <br /> on site,a solvent tank and a gasoline tank,both w removed in June, 1996. Technical Review has <br /> earmarked portions of invoices for Request for Reimbursement#10 as ineligible for reimbursement. <br /> The determination was made that portions of the site monitoring was for"non-petroleum <br /> contaminants". <br /> This reflects a change in policy on behalf of the F d. All previous requests have been paid in full. <br /> Request for Reimbursement#10 was short paid by $3,224. <br /> REMEDY REQUESTED <br /> Please issue reimbursement for the missing$3,224 <br /> STATEMENT OF REAS TSS <br /> The two tanks were registered Tank#I(Solvent)- # 1032-01 and Tank 42 (Gas)-ID# 1032-02. <br /> The lead agency, San Joaquin County Department of Environmental Health, originally required <br /> testing for Stoddard Solvent with the initial tank piing and the first work plan. The second work <br /> plan revised testing for Stoddard Solvent to EPA 8260 to include Stoddard solvents and chlorinated <br /> hydrocarbons because the owner did not know the history of the previous owners. All work plans <br /> were approved by the lead agency,pre-approved for reimbursement by the UST Fund. <br /> From the beginning, testing for solvents has been approved for reimbursement,and is under the scope <br /> of the Petroleum Underground Storage Tank Clean Fund Regulations by the Fund's definition of <br /> petroleum, which is: <br /> "Petroleum means crude oil, or any fraction thereof, that is liquid at 60 degrees Fahrenheit and <br /> 14.7 pounds per square inch absolute, including a following substances: motor fuels,jet fuels, <br /> 1 <br />
