Box 388 <br /> Stockton, CA 95201 <br /> Subject: Norman Higgins A.K.A.Vogue CleaneTs <br /> 2315 N California Street <br /> Stockton, CA Site code:231032 <br /> Dear Mr. Inferna, <br /> Please find below the proposed Work Plan for further investigation of the Vogue Cleaners Site. <br /> WORK PLAN FOR PHASE 2 SITE IlWESTIGATION <br /> as modified by request of P S/EHD <br /> SITE HISTORY <br /> The site has a long history of use as a cleaning establishment and presently continues to have the <br /> same use. On June 6, 1996,Thorpe Oil removed two empty underground storage tanks from the <br /> property under a permit from the PHS/EHD.SoilJn1'e <br /> s from the tank excavation were obtained <br /> using standard methods and locations.The samplunder Tank#1 was taken at a depth of+1- <br /> eight feet. The sample from Tank#2 was taken atth of+/-nine feet. Both these samples and <br /> samples from the excavation spoil showed eviof hydrocarbon contamination (See map <br /> enclosed).All ofthe above samples were analyzed Analytical Laboratories,Inc.The location <br /> of Tank#1 is between two structures and is 25'from the closest access point by drilling equipment. <br /> Tank#2 can be accessed by vertical drilling equipmcut. <br /> RESULTS OF BH1 SOIL ANALYSIS <br /> The slant borehole of BH I was made a angle of 50 degrees and intersected the plane under the <br /> excavation of the solvent tank at a depth of+/-35 . The maximum concentration of TPH for <br /> BH 1 was 6870 mg/Kg at this point. Contamination of all samples continued to the Last sample <br /> taken at a vertical depth of+/-57 feet. At the time of water sampling in MW 1,the water table was <br /> 48.6 feet below the surface. <br /> RESULTS OF SOIL AND WATER ANALYSIS FROM MW1 <br /> Soil samples to a depth of 30 feet were con . All soil samples below 30 feet were non- <br /> detect, for all compounds. The water sample yielded a TPH of 130 ug/L. <br /> PROPOSED ADDITIONAL SITE INVESTIGA nON <br /> About 2/3 of the site area is covered with buildings. a area directly to the east of the solvent tank <br /> is the main portion of the building used by Vogue Cie aners.The building fronts directly on the west <br /> side of the sidewalk, without room for drilling equi xnent. The driveway on the north side of the <br /> building is the only area accessible to drill equipment (MW #2 Proposed). This driveway lies <br /> ' 1 <br />
