Helen Higgins -2- MAY 5 2005
Claim No. 11775
Finally, I concur with Fund staff that the primary objective of the ongoing monitoring and
investigation at your site is to evaluate the presence and extent of chlorinated solvent
contamination at your site. Petroleum contamination is essentially only detectable in one out of
nine monitoring wells at your site. In addition, it is qu stionable if the petroleum contamination
in this monitoring well is even related to your site since it is located approximately 120 feet
upgradient/side gradient to the former UST that allegedly contained gasoline.
In conclusion, I.fmd that the cost for the analysis of ch urinated solvents by EPA Method 601
remain ineligible for reimbursement from the Fund. Ir addition, because the primary objective
of the ongoing monitoring and investigation at your sit is to evaluate the presence and extent of
chlorinated solvent contamination at your site, I find o y 15% of a future monitoring and
reporting labor and only the cost for laboratory analysi of petroleum hydrocarbons will be
reimbursed by the Fund. „n
This represents a Fund Manager Decision.
