BOX 944212
Sacramento, CA 94344-2120
Claim#011775
June 14, 2005
Dear Barbara Evoy,
My husband,Normand Higgins and I purchased Vog e Cleaners in 1946 from Mr. Bearup. My
husband purchased Vogue Cleaners because it wasequipped to use Stoddard Solvent. The use of
Stoddard Solvents was preferred by my husband because it was easier on people's lungs. Vogue
Cleaners was attractive to him because it already included the specialized equipment and driers
to deal with the after smell and flammability of Stod and Solvents.
The letters from your staff indicate that there has been confusion about what cleaning solvents
were used. Your staff believes that the, primary reason to investigate my property is to check for
chlorinated solvents. Let me assure you that we have never used any other solvent than Stoddard
Solvents.
I trust that you can get this matter straightened out for me. If you have any questions please call
me at (209) 951-8186.
Sincerely,
Helen Higgins
