FOOTHILL <br /> ENGINEERING <br /> X72793 PADDY Cl2f*EK LA1VE f ODI CA 95240 <br /> PH (209) 368-9381 FAX f209) 367-1163 <br /> Mr Michael lnturna <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services August 27, 2002 <br /> 304 E Weber Third Floor <br /> Stockton, CA 95202 <br /> Subject Mrs Helen Higgins/ Vogue Cleaners <br /> 2315 N California Street <br /> Stockton, CA Site code 231032 <br /> Global ID T0607700741 <br /> Dear Mr Infuma <br /> Please fend below the report of the findings for water samples taken from monitoring wells on the <br /> Vogue Cleaners site on 6111102 <br /> REPORT OF FINDINGS FOR PHASE 2 SITE INVESTIGATION <br /> QUARTERLY MONITORING WELL SAMPLES FOR 6/11/2001- <br /> SITE <br /> /11/2001SITE HISTORY <br /> The site has a long history of use as a cleaning establishment and presently has the same use On <br /> June 6, 1996, Thorpe Oil removed two empty underground storage tanks from the property under <br /> a permit from the PI1S/EHD Soil samples from the tank excavation were obtained using standard <br /> methods and locations The sample from under Tank#1 was taken at a depth of+/-eight feet The <br /> sample from Tank#2 was taken at a depth of+/-nine feet Both these samples and samples from <br /> the excavation spoil showed evidence of hydrocarbon contamination (See map enclosed) All of <br /> the above samples were analyzed by GeoAnalytical Laboratories, Inc The location of Tank#1 is <br /> between two structures and is 25'from the closest access point by drilling equipment Tank#2 can <br /> be accessed by vertical drilling equipment <br /> Phase 1 of the Site Investigation required dnlling a slant soil boring under Tank#1 and a vertical <br /> soil bore at the location of Tank#2(See the attached soil and water analysis for BH#1 and MW#1) <br /> Phase 2 of the Site Investigation was conducted to define the vertical and horizontal extent of the <br /> contamination plume It was completed on 5/28/98 with the installation of MW#2S, MW#2D, <br /> MW#3S, MW#3D, and MW#4S, MW#4D A double monitoring well was installed in each <br /> location The shallow wells (noted by the "S" letter) had a total depth of+1-55' and the deep <br /> monitoring wells had a total depth of+/-75' The original set of water samples was made on 6111198 <br /> (see water sample analysis, attached) The latest water samples were taken 09/14/01 and are the <br /> subject of this report <br /> Monitoring wells MW#5S and MW#5D were install on 11/07/01 in the parking lane on the east <br /> side of California street Soil samples indicate the presents of 1,2-Dichloroethane and 1,1- <br /> Dichloroethene in low concentrations BTEX was not found in this new soil bore or water samples <br /> 1 <br />
