FOOTHILL <br /> ENGINEERING <br /> 12793 PADDY CREEK LANE LbDi CA 95240 <br /> PH (2097 368-9381 FAX (209) 367-1163 <br /> Mr Michael Infurna November 8, 1999 <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services <br /> Environmental Health Division <br /> P O Box 388 <br /> Stockton, CA 95201 <br /> Subject Mrs Helen Higgins / Vogue Cleaners <br /> 2315 N California Street <br /> Stockton, CA Site code 231032 <br /> Dear Mr Infurna <br /> Please find below the report of the findings for water samples taken from monitoring wells on the <br /> Vogue Cleaners site on 9/9/1999 <br /> REPORT OF FINDINGS FOR PHASE 2 SITE INVESTIGATION <br /> FOURTH SET OF MONITORING WELL SAMPLES <br /> SITE HISTORY <br /> I he site has a long history of use as a cleaning establishment and presently has the same use On <br /> June 6, 1996, Thorpe Oil removed two empty underground storage tanks ficom the property under <br /> a permit from the PHS/EHD Soil samples from the tank excavation were obtained using standard <br /> methods and locations The sample from under Tank 41 was taken at a depth of+/-eight feet The <br /> sample from Tarek #2 was taken at a depth of+/- nine feet Both these samples and samples from <br /> the excavation spoil showed evidence of hydrocarbon contamination(See map enclosed) All of the <br /> above samples were analyzed by GeoAnalytical Laboratories, Inc The location of Tank #I is <br /> between two structures and is 25' from the closest access point by drilling equipment Tank#2 can <br /> be acce4sed by vertical drilling equipment <br /> Phase 1 of the Site Investigation required drilling a slant soil boring under Tank #1 and a vertical <br /> soil bore at the location of Tank#2 ( See the attached soil and water analysis for BH#1 and MW#1) <br /> Phase 2 of the Site Investigation was conducted to define the vertical and horizontal extent of the <br /> contamination plume It was completed on 5/28/98 with installation of MW#2S,MW#2D,MW#3S, <br /> MW#3D, and MW#4S, MW#4D A double monitoring well was installed in each Iocation The <br /> shallow well (noted by the"S" letter) had a total depth of+/-55' and the deep monitoring well had <br /> a total depth of+/-75' The original set of water samples was made on 6/11/98 (see water sample <br /> analysis,attached) The latest water samples were taken 9/9/1999 and are the subject of this report <br /> WATER TABLE ELIEVATIONS AND GRADIENT <br /> Soundings on the monitoring wells showed the groundwater elevation has lowered about 2 3 feet <br /> 1 <br />
