FOOTHILL <br /> ENGINEERING <br /> 12793 PADDY CREEK LANE LORI CA 95240 <br /> PH (209) 368-9381 FAX (209) 367-1163 <br /> Mr Michael Infurna July 7, 1998 <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services Rev 10/21/98 <br /> Environmental Health Division <br /> P O Box 388 <br /> Stockton, CA 95201 <br /> Subject Norman Higgins A K A Vogue Cleaners <br /> 2315 N California Street <br /> Stockton, CA Site code 231032 <br /> Dear Mr Infurna, <br /> Please find below the Report of Findings for the Phase 2 investigation of the Vogue Cleaners Site <br /> REPORT OF FINDINGS FOR PHASE 2 SITE INVESTIGATION <br /> SITE HISTORY <br /> The site has a long history of use as a cleaning establishment and presently continues to have the <br /> same use On June 6, 1996, Thorpe Oil removed two empty underground storage tanks from the <br /> property under a permit from the PHS/EHD Soil samples from the tank excavation were obtained <br /> using standard methods and locations The sample from under Tank #I was taken at a depth of+/- <br /> eight feet The sample from Tank#2 was taken at a depth of+/- nine feet Both these samples and <br /> samples from the excavation spoil showed evidence of hydrocarbon contamination (See map <br /> enclosed) All of the above samples were analyzed by GeoAnalytical Laboratories,Inc The location <br /> of Tank#1 is between two structures and is 25' from the closest access point by drilling equipment <br /> Tank #2 can be accessed by vertical drilling equipment <br /> Phase 1 of the Site Investigation required drilling a slant soil boring under Tank #1 and a vertical <br /> soil bore at the location of Tank#2 ( See the attached soil and water analysis for BH#1 and MW91) <br /> SLANT BOREHOLE FINDINGS <br /> The Slant borehole of BH1 was made an angle of 50 degrees which intersected the plane under the <br /> excavation of the solvent tank at a depth of+/-35 feet The maximum concentration of TPH for <br /> BH 1 was 6870 mg/Kg at this point Contamination of all samples continued to the last sample <br /> taken at a vertical depth of+/- 57 feet At the time of water sampling in MW 1, the water table was <br /> 48 6 feet below the surface <br /> MW#I FINDINGS <br /> Soil samples to a depth of 30 feet were contaminated (see attached data) All soil samples below <br /> 30 feet were non-detect, for all compounds The water sample vielded a TPH of 130 ug/L <br /> I <br /> 1 <br />
